After his prominent M3X, that always has been even better than a (real!) minimoog, nowadays Mister Ken Macbeth is putting his knowledge about sounds into the biggest VCO module fitting to the very tiny eurosubrack system ever. The scotsman Ken tried to promote his idea of a modular solution for 5 rackspace a while, but in between all the world is into the small system and so .. he reduced the size again and it became really BIG: The X-Series dual VCO includes not just two amazing VCOs of an unbelievable quality but also a ringmod that could reach the quality of an EMS synth of any kind, take a tour and check it out yourselves.
In addition to the unbelievable dual VCO including that ringmod Mister Macbeth designed a Filter-/VCA-/ADSR-Module to make the combination of one 84 HP system a 'real' Minimoog-comparable mini-synth. This will be brilliant if we could afford the money to get it.

Ken Macbeth-"Since I started, I've made about 15 synths — six or seven of them what I would call professional units. I made a modular with a three-oscillator bank, in a 3U rack. On top there was a 4U block with one oscillator, a noise generator, Moog filter and two shapers. The bottom piece was a complex ring modulator, with noise gating, compression, and a control voltage section. A friend of mine has a rack with about 20-24 units of this stuff — I can't remember exactly how big it is!" The M3X was the first serial product by macbeth studio systems and it has been great. After the Filterbank Moroco the M5 has been probably the first economical success with its size and still good sales, it fits to macbeth and it has been a great idea. The idea of big modules just missed the need of the market and leaded mr. Mecbeth to the production of one of the most comfortable modules in the euro subrack system.
